The city of Barcelona and its surrounding area is well-stocked with very attractive and complete shopping centres where you can spend a whole day. We have listed some of the most attractive ones, in terms of their location and what they offer.

LA MAQUINISTA



This is the largest shopping centre in Barcelona, located in the open-air district of Sant Andreu de Palomar. With a grandiose design in which wood predominates as well as being full of plants and some green areas with fountains. There are more than a hundred brands of national and international renown so for many people it is one of the best shopping centres in Barcelona.

Its 250.000 m² give plenty of space for leisure, restaurants, exclusive services and many, many free parking spaces.

MAREMAGNUM



Maremagnum enjoys one of the best views in Barcelona and is located opposite the iconic Columbus statue on the Rambla del Mar. The main attraction of this tourist-focused shopping centre is its range of restaurants and bars with terraces overlooking the harbour.

This building, and in general the whole Maremagnum area (including the aquarium and 3D Imax cinema), was built for the ’92 Olympic Games.

The main attraction of the shopping centre is that Maremagnum is open every day, including Sundays when almost all other shopping centres in Barcelona are closed.

ARENAS DE BARCELONA



Just opposite the Plaza de España, is one of the most original shopping centres in Spain: Arenas de Barcelona, built in an old bullring, rebuilt and redesigned into a shopping centre. Thanks to its circular shape, from its terrace on the fourth floor, you can enjoy wonderful panoramic views of the city.



It is visited by thousands of tourists and locals who also want to go to the wonderful viewpoint on the top floor with a magnificent view of Barcelona, which you can also climb by a glass lift located outside.

Westfield Glòries is a shopping centre with one of the best shopping offers in Barcelona. Open since 1995, and renovated in 2017, it is outdoors, and it regularly hosts events of all kinds, including live music.

LA ROCA VILLAGE



Special mention should be made of La Roca Village, an original outlet fashion shopping centre with more than 100 boutiques of renowned fashion, accessories and homeware brands. Each brand has its own building, and together with restaurants and cafés, they form a small village ideal for a day’s shopping at unbeatable prices on the outskirts of Barcelona.

Opening hours:

La Roca Village is open every day of the week: Monday to Saturday from 10am to 9pm and Sundays from 10am to 8pm, although during the summer season (1 June to 14 September) opening hours are extended to 10pm. The restaurants and cafés open their doors at 9am, allowing visitors to have breakfast before starting their shopping. La Roca Village is closed on the following public holidays:

– 1st May

– 11th September

– 25th and 26th December

– 24th and 31st December La Roca Village will close at 7pm.

It is located in La Roca del Vallès, a town just over 30 minutes from the centre of Barcelona. The easiest way to get there is to travel by car on the AP-7 highway, take exit 12 towards Cardedeu and follow the signs to the shopping centre. Those who wish to travel by bus can use the SAGALÉS public transport service, which directly connects Barcelona’s Fabra i Puig Station with La Roca Village, or use the shopping centre’s special bus service called Shopping Express. This bus makes three trips a day at 10 am, 4 pm and 6 pm, directly connecting Plaça Catalunya with the shopping centre.
