Routes 03/10/2024
a collage of shopping malls with the words shopping routes at the top
In Barcelona you can find your shopping route whatever your preference. The city offers all kinds of options: from century-old shops that allow you to take home a little piece of the most authentic Barcelona, to more avant-garde creations, and even gourmet shops where flavours become the real souvenir.

Barcelona is also an ideal choice for a day of shopping while discovering the city's identity, enjoying modernist buildings and a wide range of leisure and dining options. The largest open-air shopping mall in the city, and also one of the largest in Europe, runs through the city centre from end to end, a 5km route from Avenida Diagonal to the Port, passing through Paseo de Gracia and Las Ramblas. This route is known as the Barcelona Shopping Line and allows you to enjoy a great walk surrounded by shops and architectural gems.

Paseo de Gracia: Luxury and exclusivity
Passeig de Gracia is one of the most emblematic avenues in the city, both for its architecture and its commercial offering. Here you will find the most exclusive fashion stores in the city, both national and international brands for lovers of haute couture and the most select ready-to-wear .

Walking along this iconic street you can enjoy luxurious shop windows included in masterpieces of the city's modernist architecture, works such as Casa Batlló, La Pedrera, Casa Amatller or Casa Lleó Morera, the greatest exponents of Catalan Modernism.

Tip : After an intense day of shopping on the Barcelona Shopping Line, don't forget to take a moment to relax in one of the cafés in the area to enjoy the views of any of the incredible modernist buildings.

El Born: Independent fashion and art
Crossing Via Laietana, between the Gothic Quarter and Parc de la Ciutadella, we find one of the most avant-garde neighborhoods in the city, full of fashion, accessories and gift shops with a very bohemian and vintage touch, in contrast to the luxury of Paseo de Gràcia that we mentioned in the previous point.

Lose yourself in its narrow streets to find the best boutiques of emerging designers, art galleries and local crafts. You can also find some comic and manga-themed shops. It is the best neighbourhood to find that object that allows you to take home a little piece of Barcelona's creativity.

Portal de l'Àngel: Fashion for everyone
If you are looking for a mix of the most popular brands at affordable prices, this is the perfect option for you. It is a pedestrian street where tourists and locals come together to update their wardrobes with the latest trends. Here you will find big names such as Zara, Mango, H&M, among many other brands and stores for all tastes and styles.

If you decide to do your shopping in this area, don't forget to visit El Corte Inglés , the most famous department store in Spain where you can find several floors dedicated to fashion, accessories, electronics and all kinds of gourmet products.
