For those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and immerse themselves in nature, the Sierra de Collserola Natural Park is a great treasure. This green jewel is located opposite the sea and offers a unique experience in which contact with nature, sport and spectacular views combine in a memorable getaway.

Collserola is a large natural space full of interesting places to explore and enjoy. Here is a list of highlights that you cannot miss when visiting this park:

Tibidabo
It is the highest mountain in the Collserola mountain range and is famous for the iconic amusement park and the Sagrat Cor church. Its panoramic views are among the best in the city. If you have the chance, climb the Temple tower to enjoy even more impressive views.

How to get there?
The easiest way to get there is by using the TibiBus , a special bus that leaves from different points in the city and goes up to the Cuca de Llum (Plaça Doctor Andreu), the new funicular included in all types of tickets to the Amusement Park that takes you to the top on an innovative and unforgettable trip through the Serra de Collserola.
You can also arrive by private vehicle and park in the paid parking lot at the top, the address is Camí de Vallvidrera al Tibidabo, 49. It is necessary to book in advance.

Collserola Park Information Centre
If you don't know where to start, one of the first stops should be the Park Information Centre. Here you can get maps, guides and advice on the most important routes and all the activities in the park. You could say that it's like the Park's Tourist Office where you'll find all the information you need to enjoy a day in nature without leaving Barcelona.

How to get there?
The best way is by public transport, specifically the Ferrocarriles (FGC), the stop is Baixador de Vallvidrera. From the centre it is very easy to catch the S1 and S2 railway lines at the Diagonal/Provença station, which are the ones that take you there.
Below is a map showing how to get from the stop to the Information Center.

Vallvidrera reservoir
It is a small reservoir that was built in the 19th century to supply water to Barcelona. It is the ideal place for a picnic or a picturesque walk surrounded by vegetation.

How to get there?
It is close to the Information Centre so you can also get there from the Baixador de Vallvidrera FGC stop. A good option is to stop there first to get a map and directions on how to walk to the reservoir.

Vila Joana
It is a 19th century farmhouse known because it was where the famous Renaissance poet Jacint Verdaguer died in 1902. The MUHBA house-museum has preserved the rooms that the author occupied and anyone who comes to visit it can enter for free to learn more about the life and work of the writer.

How to get there?
You can also get there from the Baixador de Vallvidrera FGC stop, which is right next to the Information Centre.

Hermitage of Sant Medir
It is a hermitage located in the municipality of Sant Cugat del Vallés. It is of Romanesque origin although due to all the transformations it has undergone there are hardly any original vestiges left. The first data we have about the hermitage date back to 962 and it was owned by the Monastery of Sant Cugat. The monks of the monastery maintained and looked after it until 1446.
Every March 3rd, the traditional parade and procession of Sant Medir is held in honor of the martyr and patron saint of Sant Cugat. Discover the legend of Sant Medir .

How to get there?
A good route to reach the Hermitage is starting from the top of Tibidabo, it is a journey of approximately 5km along a forest track.

Collserola Tower
It was designed by Norman Foster and built to meet the communication needs of the 1992 Olympic Games. The Public Viewpoint, located at a height of 560 m above sea level, offers excellent views over the city of Barcelona, its Metropolitan Area and up to more than 70 km on clear days. The viewing point can be accessed by purchasing tickets directly on the Tibidabo Amusement Park website and the ascent is made by means of a panoramic elevator with glass walls.

How to get there?
The Tower is just a 10-minute walk from the Amusement Park, so you can follow the same directions to get there.

Budellera Fountain
In the shadow of Tibidabo and the Collserola Tower, near Vallvidrera, lies the Budellera Fountain, one of the best-known fountains in the Collserola Mountains Natural Park. Here, like an oasis, we find an intimate and welcoming corner, cool and surrounded by lush vegetation, which gives us the feeling of being, for a brief moment, away from the hustle and bustle of Barcelona, on the other side of the mountain. The name of the fountain comes from the fact that it was once said that the water that flowed from this fountain cured stomach pains and “budells” translates as intestine.

How to get there?
To get there, the best option is to take the S2 line of the FGC to the Peu del Funicular stop and from there take a walk of approximately 2km. Although you could also take the Funicular to shorten the walk to the fountain a little.

Collserola is a natural park, not an urban garden. It is a space where nature is wild and has its own balance; it is a vital territory for animals and plants, but also for us. Caring for it and protecting it is everyone's responsibility, those who live nearby and those who visit from time to time. Please respect the rules of coexistence and conservation of the environment.
