Sant Medir, a sweet tradition
On Thursday 3rd of March, horseback processions will once again fill the streets of the districts of Sarrià-Sant Gervasi with sweets. This tradition honours the first pilgrimage in honour of this saint, Sant Medir, organized by a baker, on the 3rd of March 1830, who offers sweet pastries to attract the people’s attention and fulfill a vow to his chapel.
This pastries became, in the form of candies, the sweet attraction of this tradition. Citizens, groups of friends, named colles, and the kids follow the parade around the streets.
Don’t miss it!
